Dustin Ray Shannon is a member of the Oz Museum in Wamego, Kansas, the National Carousel Association, ICT LUG in Wichita, and the National Amusement Park Historical Association.
Dustin Ray Shannon was born and raised in Salina, Kansas, where his passion for history, storytelling, and preservation first began. His deep connection to Kansas history is rooted in his family’s past—his sixth great-uncle, Wilson Shannon, served as the second Territorial Governor of Kansas, helping inspire Dustin’s lifelong interest in the people, places, and stories that shaped the state.

As an author and historian, Dustin has written several books focused on Joyland Amusement Park in Wichita, Kansas ghost towns, pioneer-era stories, forgotten communities, and historic places across America. His work reflects a commitment to preserving local history and bringing overlooked stories back to life for modern readers.

That same dedication to preservation eventually led Dustin into real estate, where he specializes in representing historic homes, unique properties, and one-of-a-kind real estate. Licensed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Kansas, he brings a historian’s eye and a preservation-minded approach to helping clients buy, sell, and invest with confidence.

Dustin currently resides in North Alabama and enjoys traveling throughout the states he serves, combining his love of history, architecture, and real estate to help people find properties with character, meaning, and a story worth preserving.
